Riding Lessons
Wind Dance Equestrian Center is a located in southwest Loveland Colorado, sitting on a beautiful 10 acres just outside of town. We have 12 stalls and daily turnout for all horses along with some sheds & runs. We have both indoor and outdoor riding arenas, expert care (40+years experience), home grown hay, free choice feed, daily turnout, pasture and nearby trails that lead to a lake. Horses receive daily turnout and some pasture time.

Lesson Packages
Miniature Ponies Package |
For ages 2.5 years old to 5, that want to learn all about horses and start to learn the the basics of riding. The kiddos will be able to be at the barn, around the horses, in a safe environment while learning and being able to ride.

Quarter Horse Package

For ages 5+ beginners, that want get started learning how to ride. This program teaches the basics of getting horses ready to ride, learning how to safely be around horses and of course, how to ride! This program is recommended for any child (5+) or adult that wants to learn how to ride a horse!

Mustang Package |
For ages 8+ beginner or intermediate riders that already know the basics of riding and want to continue learning and improving. This program works with you and your horse (or our lesson horse) both on learning how to improve your riding skills, but also working on learning about handling & caring for horses. This program requires two hours a week, one hour for a standard riding lesson and another hour working with horses on the ground.

Welsh Cob Package |
For beginner to intermediate riders, ages 6+, looking for a slower moving but well rounded program. This package includes weekly riding lessons and once a month pony club meetings. This package is similar to the Arabian package, but does not include as many pony club meetings. The Pony Club meetings will be educational group classes where we discuss different topics & have lots of fun activities.

For intermediate to advanced riders, ages 8-21, looking for a dedicated program. This package includes weekly riding lessons AND several Pony Club meetings a month. With this package, your child will be learning how to be a real horseman! Everything from learning to ride, to learning how to handle horses, to horse care 101 to having what it takes to be able to show!

Preparing for your first Lesson
Important DocumentsBefore we are able to get to schedule riding lessons, you will need to fill out a few forms from me.
- Liability Waivers for both the rider & parents or any adult that will be in contact with the horses. - Rider Application for the rider. This form helps us be able to match you with a horse suited for your needs.

Proper AttireWDEC has approved riding helmets that can be fitted before your lesson. We do ask that if the rider is planning on taking lessons for more then three months that you purchase your own helmet. Helmets must fit properly and must be ATSM/SEI Certified. There is a local tack shop called Happy Horse that offers helmet fittings when you purchase a helmet from them. Helmets are required to be worn by all riders (under 18 years old) when riding and handling horses.
We ask that beginning riders wear leggings or skinny jeans for their lessons. We also require that riders wear tall socks (no ankle socks) and a heeled boot. We recommend a paddock boot or a cowboy boot. Hair should be pulled back & neat. Unbrushed hair, or any hairstyle that interferes with a riding helmet will be asked to be taken out. This can cut into riding time if you are not prepared. Walk Trot Canter students will be asked to wear riding pants, riding gloves, paddock boots & half chaps or tall boots for every lesson.

Cancelation PolicyA 24 hour notice is required for any cancelation of lesson for any reason. By canceling your lesson with less then a 24 hour notice or by not showing up for your lesson, this will result in you being charged for the lesson.
If canceling more than 24+ hours in advanced, a lesson may be rescheduled within the same calendar month. Lessons will only be rescheduled if instructor has availability to do so, make-up lessons are not guaranteed. Your instructor may cancel lessons at any time due to extreme weather or other issues with the barn or with horses. Please arrive on time for your lesson. Beginners or Walk/Trot students should arrive exactly at their lesson time and no more then 10 minutes early. More advanced students or Walk/Trot/ Canter students will be asked to arrive 15-20 minutes early, giving time for them to catch, groom and tack up their assigned mount for their lesson on their own. Arriving 10 minutes past your lesson time will be considered a 'no show', unless you have discussed your tardiness with your instructor in advanced. If you are more then 10 minutes late your lesson will be canceled and you will still be obligated to pay for said lesson. No refunds for purchased lessons or packages.
